This was one of the most educational videos I have ever seen.
12 minutes about American government.
Click the link above and go down to the bottom and watch the video.
Yes the questions are softballs, but the information that comes back is very interesting.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

The course

I have not gone miniature golfing in a lifetime so I thought it would be fun.  And it was. The course was a wreck.  It has been weathered beyond belief, but hey, when you pay $2 a round you get what you pay for.  (See YouTube movie)

Thank you everyone for my birthday gift and for coming to Z afterwards for dinner. The family gave me control of what to order which does make me happy. Toshi-san took care of us with the best sushi in town. Echigo beer and stuffed jalapeƱos with the veins in just for a teaser.  Owen even bought be a tall hot sake. Very nice.

Viviane was there in spirit. Looking good as usual.

The night ended with a comedy of errors as K8T's car had a new alarm installed to give her hands free when dealing with Camille but it has a mind of its own.  Through someone's infinite wisdom it was thought best to leave the 'clicker' at home and just not use it. Well bad idea as the thing went off and off again. We could not drive it. Dad had to give a few of us a lift to South Pas and from there we did an Eagle Rock round trip back to Z with the clicker.  Good times.  That new alarm was as loud as Van Halen in 80's. In hind sight maybe the key in the driver's side door would have been a solution, but we would have missed out on all of the fun!

Anyway, thanks again family for the memories.

Sunset in Hermosa Beach

Took a weekend away from the job hunt and brought my camera. The battery are dead but I got a few shots off before it died.

The trademark HB  sculpture

Skate Rats hit the pier. Technically a crime but not really a big deal.

Manhattan Pier one mile to the North.

Seaguls like the sunset too. Diehard fisherman at one of BrotherJoe's favorite spots.

Sun just dipped behind the horizon.

Brazil!

BrotherBill visits BigSis at JPL

Inside the clean room where they build satellites. This is the turtle shell for a lack of a better word that will lower the next rover onto the surface of Mars before it flies away.

Everyone working in the room is not only clean but static free. The black wires around there shoulders that go to their wrists is to prevent static arcs.

The room is big. See the movie.  All of these shots are from a display window for people like me with a Liberal Arts degree.

This is a model of an already landed rover on Mars. It is stuck. It is still transmitting. I understand in its immobile state that are using it to measure Mars movements and trying to understand the inner workings of the planet.  (I don't know, but that is what Kelly said.) This model was built so they could figure out a way to go back and get it out of the sand it is currently stuck in. That would be very impressive.

BrotherBill in the Mars Yard. I tripped as I walked out there and I almost fell face first on a lava rock.

Picture of a picture of the ATHLETE and its acronym.

The ATHLETE has six legs, I am standing between two the the third behind me facing the other way. The other 3 are in front of me.

I had lunch with my sister and my old friend Erik from high school. Erik writes code for a camera for some cool thing to be launched into space. What is rad is that his old man build the camera. He is engineer too.  Paid 5 bucks for a chicken salad rap in a green tortilla.  Good tea. Good times.

The best part of the trip was the dead alien body they have the lobby. It super cool with big eyes and really long fingers. I would have taken a picture of it for you Felipe but they said I am not allowed to take pictures of that.

could not have said it better myself

I have been staying away from politics for a while on the blog. But if you know me you know that I follow it every day.  Well I need to break the trend with one link to one article.  I have wanted to do this a few times over the last few weeks but after I read this I felt this was worthy of a link:

Click here for BrotherBill's off the deep end right wing link--> Click Me

There was a little sarcasm there.
